Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

So, I made a beat a few days ago, all samples no midi keys or anything.

Each sound was on a separate track probably 6 or 7 tracks total. i saved all my work, and i came back to it today to mess around with it, and all the tracks say unused and are set to MIDI, except for track 10 which wasn't even used originally, and the loop function on the home screen is says off, so the beat plays for 4 bars and stops.

the beat is still all there but only on one track. i want to make some changes and eventually track it out to my DAW, but that's gonna be impossible without recreating the entire beat.

is this common? this is the 2nd or 3rd beat this has happened to, the first time is happened was on my card reader right after i installed it so i thought i was doing something wrong, and sometimes that beat will open with all the tracks in tact, other times its track 10, but this most recent one was on my external zip.

I'm not sure if there is something i can do to correct it without having to remake the sequence.

any help would be great!

Thanks everyone....

how do you save your sequence data? Cause there are two types of MIDIfiles (in case you use the midifile format)

i just save it however it comes up, i haven't changed anything and this problem just started, it looks like its set to midi filetype 1
