It makes me glad I stuck with my 2KXL. Too many problems with the 1k. I got 2 homies going through the same problems them catz in the forum are going thorough.

yeah i owned an mpc 1000 i just sold it 2 weeks ago and bought my 2kxl. I tried both machines and let me tell you from EXPERIENCE the 2kxl is better in EVERY aspect. Its built stronger, it feels better, the LCD is more detailed, the tilt screen, Tha timing is tight and precise, no bugs, the pads feel better and are bigger. Im SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO happy i got rid of the 1000 and copped my 2000XL. Strait up the best thing i ever did. I only used my mpc2000XL abut 2-3hours since i got it but i made more progress on it than i did in 3 months on my mpc1000. Its just TOO buggy. My work flow got **** up because of all the promlems...im deff a 100% 2000xl supporter from now on!

In reality the MPC2000XL has more bugs than the MPC1000. Since the gear has been around a while, we just do not talk about them anymore. The MPC1000 will be the same way soon.

My unofficial bug count on the XL is near 20.

It is definitely incorrect for a MPC2000XL owner to shun an MPC1000 because of bugs.

I was hopin yo cop the 1000 back in January but no one had it in around me... I was undecided about whether I really wanted that or the 2kXL... I finally decided that the 2kXL is like the standard in Hip-Hop production, so I couldn't go wrong with that decision... Man am I glad I made that choice... I've heard a lot of bad things about the 1k... ANd my 2kXL is a beast... Never had a problem yet and I always find newer and more efficient ways to use it everyday...

I have to agree with ducthmasta on this one. I HAD a 1000......for about a month. What's that say? I had a 60II about four years ago for a good year or two, so I know an MPC when I play one. The 1000 truly feels like Roland gear (i.e. total plastic crap) whereas EVERY other MPC in history has had a good build quality (none like the 3000, but all good). The 1000 also is missing the chopping functions, some step edit options, the feel of real MPC pads, and a non-tiltable screen, among a million other features (timestretch, anyone?). It's not a total waste of money or anything, but it feels like a Fisher Price "My first MPC" unit in actual use. I miss my 60II like crazy, but I have an s950, so I get the same sound and can choose to sequence with my 2000xl or with Logic on my Mac. Not the SAME thing, but not too shabby...

Yeah, my XL keeps freezing from time to time but since it has always done that I'm already used to it. And no matter what situation you're in freezing up is FAR more worse than the occasional sample dropping out...

lets see, lets list the bugs we've heard about,

pad sensetivity,
sample drop outs,
clicks on imported wavs and loops (could be user error)
I haven't heard of lost data lately, is that one gone?
Freezing when hooking up to USB (why most people got readers for their computers)

uneven feet (fixable, but still)

Did you realize how silly that statement is? You mean the MPC1000 missing many the same features that the MPC60 is missing?

imma buy a 1000 when peeps start selling them for 350 on ebay. Ican bring that shit anywhere with a headphone and start banging !!!!

The only feature the 60 has that the 1000 doesn't that I am aware of is velocity per track, oh and reverse.

Besides that, I am not sure if there is anything beyond that.

I would like to do a bug count on the 60, but I am not sure how I would define a bug verses intentional programming on some parts.

It never crashes, but there are some things that I think could be better, but I believe were designed for the way people in their target market worked back then.

Yes you can go wrong with the 2KXL, but it involves a trip to FOrat and a Louis Vuiton print...

well yall got me scared, im lookin into my first peice of hardware, and i was gonna go with the 1k, but im scared now, maybe ill go classic 2000?

The classic is a good piece, I like it better than the Xl personally.
