Maybe check out the manuals and it will say.

It should be in the manuals, but doesn't seem to be. A search for "fan" in the 4000 pdf gets 0 results.
They keep all the negative info secret.

hahahaha.

Why would it be negative if it doesn't have any fans in it?

Good point. Maybe the other manuals say they don't have a fan... nope.
The 500 doesn't. 1000 probably doesn't. Don't know about 2500 or legacy though.

I didn't see a fan in the 60/60II, 3k or 2k classic either. From looking at inside shots of the 1000 and 2500 on google, I don't see any fans there either. Judging by the 500's size, I'm guessing it doesn't have one either.

Ya, a condenser picks up fan noise easy. But also, stress. Sometimes you just want to get away from all the noise of the world and hide in a quiet room. When your computer is humming, and sampler is whirling, it breaks that serenity. Plus if you do this 24/7 the constant background noise leads to stress-related injuries that could put you out of the game. Also, moving parts break. The fans get clogged up with dust from the environment, especially if you take this thing outside. That makes them louder, and eventually the bearings stop turning as they should so you have to replace it.

If there's an option, always go fanless. Keep motors for cars, not music gear.

funny thing you mention this. i have my "studio" in my basement, and thru the winter it was **** cold. Always had a fan on. Now, in the summer, when I try to make beats I dont turn it on. But then it is too quiet, so I have to use it. It stresses me not having a fan on, and it stresses me to have it on.

Wrong, the 5k has a HD, but doesn't have a fan. Get your research right.
