MPC2500, Logic 8 and apogee duet

What's up fellow MPC users.

I know this questions has probably been asked before but I still can't seem to find the right answer.

I finally got my mpc2500 and I wanted to track everything into logic 8. Basically see all individual sounds in logic 8 as wav's and mix it from there. I Have an apogee duet as well. Would it be practical for me to plug the outs of the mpc2500 to the inputs of the apogee duet and record into logic? or is there an easier way of doing this? Should i get rid of the apogee duet and get something like the alesis multimix 8 firewire? Any help would be much appreciated.

Forgot to add, If I change my audio interface to one that has spdif, would it be easier and faster for me to record my sounds into logic? thanks.

yep, you track into logic with the duet. using spdif/digital won't make it faster, just a more direct signal path, so better/cleaner sound.

you can also use your usb connection to get your tracks into logic. just resample each track for 4, 8, 16 or however many bars. then drag into logic. place a few snare hits in front of each track so you easily line/synch all the tracks up in loigc.

Thanks for the help. I actually returned the duet and got the profire 610 so I can do a midi clock sync and use the assignable mix out of the mpc to the line in on the profire 610. Then record the mpc through the line in on the profire 610 using the midi clock sync between logic and the mpc. Am I on the right track here?

sounds like you're on the right track. do a search here -- there are some tutorials for synching with logic, as well as look on youtube.

any body just use it straight up with garage band... the duet im talking about with a mpc 2gxl?
