I am new to sampling sounds w/mpc can someone please HELP!!!

I don't know anything about sampling sounds with my mpc 2000xl. How would you go about sampling sounds from:

1. Records (vinyl)
2. Cd's
3. Movies

And also what cables would I need?

the mpc has 2 mono 1/4" ins.

for sampling records you will want the phono running into an amp or mixer, which will probably have RCA outs. so you want dual rca to dual 1/4" cables for that.

You could also use dual 1/4" to single stereo 1/8" cables to sample direct from a walkman type cd player - or from a computer 1/8" out...

but basically if you can run an out from an amp then you can connect whatever you want to the amp.,..
