I've been on these blogs for some time now but I don't use them for sampling (or at least haven't yet  ) but it's a great way to hear stuff that you might not have otherwise heard which can then be added to your 'wants' list when you're diggin proper.

Don't forget that you're kind of blessed in the states when it comes to diggin. In other parts of the world it ain't so easy (or cheap). I've got to travel at least 30 miles to the nearest record store that sells old vinyl and I don't live in the sticks!

Finding gems in charity shop and boot sales also happen rarely round here.

Well I got my rulez. No downloading or sampling Sounds and/or Tracks anymore. Just vinyl sampling. Why?? Cause every mofo can download the rarest stuff and I dont want to be like that cause thats not "where I'm coming from". I'm 35 and when I started I really had to search for informations, samples etc. Most of the stuff I know I've learned by myself the trial and error way. You might say I am crazy but I just cant look in the mirror anymore if I go the easy way and download all the stuff. Its my personal way of getting things done. You can do what you want but thats not my way. Many people say "The result is the important thing and it doesnt matter how it is done" that may be true for them but I'll always give more respect to those who walk the hard way.

peace

Throw a Vestax PDX2000 (build in the late 90s) on the floor. Then throw a Technics SL1210 MKII (build in the late 70s) on the floor. Now what do you think is quality.
Look and listen to the 70s Amplifiers in home stereos. Then look and listen to modern Amplifiers in home stereos. And turn the knobs and press the buttons. Now which one got more quality old or new?
I guess 99 percent of todays electronics will be demaged in 15 years. But I know a lot of stuff from the 70s/80s that still work well today and will work for another decade.

i didnt think he meant quality as in build but as in sound.

Where I'm from "dp" means something else entirely.
And I ain't talking about Dilated Peoples, either hommie....

Because it's analog. Not a digital representation of an analog signal. That's why.

+1 to peterpiper's post about vintage japanese-built electronics shitting on the 90's & 00's built stuff.
No competition there at all. If you haven't had the pleasure of owning or using any 1970's audio equipment,
I feel bad for you....

Please don't make the mistake of confusing "conveinence" with "quality". They are not the same thing.
