Will JJ ever bless us xl users?

I dont want to buy a 2500 (or give Nukai any more of my money for that matter), but I want some of the extras like mute program, record while playback etc...


Wishful thinking or plausible reasoning?

well the only reason he did anything for the 1000/2500 is because he had the necessary info to do so. I have no idea how the valexi system was made, maybe they could pull off something similar for the xl.

it would most def be worth while trying to accomplish such a thing, or networking with the right people to get the job done.

i mean hell, 3k and 60 users got aftermarket an OS don't they?

i use the 2500 alot, but i never use my xl anymore because it hurts my workflow now i'm so fluent with jj on 2.5k.

it wouldn't take much to put the xl back in the spotlight imo...

input thru/direct record/filters/grid edit/global program edit, and few other 2500 features. if someone can crack the xl OS then they gonna make a bit of dough!

while i think it will not happen, There are very few small changes that would make me super happy. I dont think i would want a whole lot of extra features as it only has 32mb RAM and generally does everything i need it to. Those small changes though, and life would be at ease!

^^^Im not really looking for crazy changes, but like ^^^ said, a few small implementations. I dont think a drastic overhaul would sit well with me, either.

I keep coming to this forum hoping someone is offering upgrades to the 2000xl lol.

Some dedicated delays for the 2k and maybe some additional filters i.e. HPF and BPF filters would be awesome to have as an upgrade.

Tru tru these are all really good points and shud be discussed extensively.

After just seeing the Sounds4samplers, I think it was a 500, youtube tutorial on mutes groups, that's the only hack, if it's even possible, that I wish someone would come through with on the 2k. Of course there are other features that would be dope but that's at the top of my "need" list. That and really needing a high pass filter.

What's stopping some genius from doing what JJ or Mansell have done? Someone break that down for me. I know shit's scientific and all. haha

The 60 3.10e OS comes directly from Roger Linn, thats the only reason we got a new OS, he cared enough back in 97. Akai will never care enough for a new OS for the 2k so it will never happen I guess.
