wuddya want for it?

I need as many 2KXL's as I can get my dirty hands on for cannabilism

I've got a monster mod brewing.....

Could be the sickest MPC mod ever done, just need more donors.

You likely broke some solder joints, circuits, leads, or cracked a PCB

I've seen wierder things happen too, but these are probably most likely

problem could be on the main, so I wouldn't bet on that being good. Hard to say without about 4 hours labor, aint cheap

remove the memory and any addons, then try it, if it works the replace everyhting you removed one at a time and testing if it still wroks each time, perhaps youll get lucky and find the problem

today i turned on the mpc without the addons. i have replaced the 8outs and the RAM. after 10 minutes beatbanging the display starts flickering. whats the reason for this? could it be that the connection between the mainboard and the display is disturbed or broken? i think the display is okay but the mainboard is broken because the midi in and outputs also dont work. there was never a problem with the screen before. i think he is okay.

help!

It could be several things -- a bad solder joint on the LCD connection, either at the LCD or the motherboard, power supply issues, or an issue with the inverter.

Try leaving it on for 10 - 20 minutes without playing it and see if the issue comes back. It could be that your "beatbanging" could be wiggling something loose or if there is a bad solder joint, the vibration from playing it may loosen the connection.

yes yes! thats how it was! Everytime when i pushed the pads then the display starts to filckering.so the problem is a bad solder joint to the screen rigth?

It could be a bad solder joint, or one of the connectors could be loose.

If you have a magnifying glass, turn off the MPC and open it up and look at all the connections on the PCB. Both at the motherboard and on the LCD connection itself. Wiggle any connections gently to see if something is loose.

The solder joints should be all very similar looking, with a smooth texture and no cracks. If you seen any that look out of the ordinary, that may be the culprit.

With a soldering iron, if you reheat the questionable solder joint, you can reflow the solder to make a better connection. I wouldn't add any extra solder unless you know what you're doing -- otherwise you could bridge other joints and cause them to short out.

Good luck!
