Does anyone own any of these instructional videos from Samplekings.com?
Are they informative? Dope? Cheesy? Lacking information?
Let me know what's up. I just ordered 2 videos for the MPC4K and wanted to know some people's reactions who've bought videos for the MPC4K or other MPC's.

Peace.

can you list the topics they discuss? How detailed are they?

I heard someone say they were garbage....unless you knew nothing at all about the 4000

5.5 I would rate it. If you knew nothing about the MPCs for begineers it is great. If you had experience from other MPCs it shows a little more because the 4000 has a full sampler compared with the other series (I had a 2000XL). The author comes to Japan alot so we met and he said in the future he would expand on the Programs Page more for beginners which I thought needed more detail for learning systhesis on this advanced machine. He covers the basics i refer back to it from time to time. But I really learned more about full samplers from his Akai 950s videos. Honestly I would get a book called What`s a sampler and Synthesizer along with the videos then everything that is explained in the video will make more sense. The videos don`t suck It is just that he isn`t going to do everything for you. You have to learn the basics to get more knowledge and understanding out of them. Good luck.

Topics are basics

Video 1
Front panel/back panel functions
Sampling and editing
Multis
Programming
Timestretching
Basic Beatmaking

Video 2
Filtering (basics)
Sample editing with One shot, no loop, and Loop and advance edits
Program with LFO Modulation Assignments
Zones
Pad Assigns
Midi with a Triton
Basic qlink
Basic Midi Beat making
Aksys system

These were made with 1.40 OS check if a newer version with Mr Nakamura was released that should be 1.51 at least.

One man`s garbage is another man`s treasure. The more you know the more a begineer can understand. Like using the part mixer on aksys screen to mix a song with au†omation. Anyway something is better than nothing as far as MPC videos go. The 3000 video is better. :D

they helped me out allot but they cant cover some of the newer features because they werent out yet. the do give you lessons on things you might other wise not know exist.

I think the need to come out with a new one
