tru tru whatever floats the boat. Im into complex and if i were to buy a asr-x i would use it as just my sampler. I had the es-1 and i loved it. the effects were crazy. the asr-x though is a full sampler so i would compare it more too the akai s3000xl or the emu joints. the groove boxs are cool but there are a bunch of em out there. the 303 is hot thought dont get me wrong, but if u want a full sampler for a decent price then the asrx.

fellas,
i own the 303.I use it together with my mpc 1k.Just for the effects though. The 303's effects are damn good for the price of the machine. It used to be my only sequencer/sampler before i got the 1k.i just outgrew it a little so i got the 1k.i never used the asr so i can't comment on that.the 4 tracks were limiting to me and the fact that you cant mix in it like a mpc.BUT it is still a solid joint.especially for 300 new.

I agree wit elmacaco... I was gonna buy the ES-1 and it is nice... But the 303 is nicer in my eyes... I'd rather use it... The ASR-X is really nice but I think it would be too much, too big, and too complex... Since this kid is gettin a MPC... I still say he should get the 303...

or better yet a 505 off of ebay, I love the waveform sampling...shit's easier than in my computer with that jog dial to set the endpoints and then truncate on that ass.....DAMN! it makes me happy, set with my MPC and I'm rolling man...GYEAH!

Oh definitely... I have the 505... I gave it to my younger bro, but I hook it up to my MPC from time to time... That sh*t is critical when it comes to choppin samples... And it's FX are sickening

peeps here say buy the 303 cos the fx are great....if you already had an mpc would it not make more sense to buy a dedicated fx unit then? Given that the mpc already has sequencer and sampling capabilities

I was sort of thinking of buying a sp202 for sampling while out and about.....battery and micorphone features....does anybody rate this or would it be a waste of money?
