Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

I actually took the thing almost completely apart and put it back together and now it works fine. I think the pad sensor connection must have been a little off. BTW, I love this thing! I took it hiking and got some great percussive sounds (banging on rocks in a canyon and a dead tree sounds great).

I've noticed some high noise floor issues when playing/recording off of batteries recently. Not sure I noticed them so much before. I'm curious if you had this issue when recording out in the field.

Personally I find that recording at the highest volume possible really did help to resolve this, but it also seems that the battery type/mic quality/headphone quality may impact this as well.

there's an endless amount of MPC's on ebay... send this crappy one back and just pick up another 500. i just did!
