Hmmm..did you make sure that the mpc1000.bmp file isn't in a folder? In other words, it has to be at the root level of the CF card. Also, what did you use to create the file? If you're using Photoshop, there's a thread out here that explains how to do it (Let's See Your Custom Splash Screens) or something like that. I used MS Paint and that worked fine...

Thank you for both replies...i did use photoshop to create it..

[The .bmp File is placed right onto the card... it isn't in any folders... not too sure if thats root or not]

I Will try to use MS paint tonight but Menco mentioned that the free version of JJ Os doesn't support it... i am running JJ OS 8.02 Free

Is it a good idea to buy the 4.99 one?.. or which would be a good choice?... had mpc for about a week now and JJ Os seems way more convenient then Akai...
Thanks again...

I am pretty new to the mpc myself, but after messin around with akai os for like a week i tried the free one, and bought 4.99 the next day, never regretted it for a second. best money you can spend when you own the 1000 imho.

Yeah...i wanted to try out the JJ OS before purchasing another version of it... personally i think the JJ OS is way easier to use then AKAI OS...

so just to be clear...when i buy that 4.99 one im buying a "password"...which cost 50 bucks?...

i see that the 4.99 one is available for download for free...but its not going to let me save anything if i install it...

is saving allowed thru 3.08?...like is it legit enough to save and playback a song?

update*** i tried to convert my logo in Microsoft Paint to a 1-bit monochrome BMP and i set it in the CF card and booted up MPC ...still no luck...Maybe its the Free JJ OS that doesnt support it?..Could that be possible?

ya im pretty sure thats the deal, i made mine in photoshop and it works fine, though i never tried to load one when i was on free jj os.

and you are correct about the password, you download and install 4.99 and buy the password using a code it gives you on the save screen i believe. pretty easy process, just pay for it with paypal, i got mine within like 12 hours i think

Oh I didn't know you were using the free version of JJos. I think Menco is right. I have JJos 4.99 and I agree too that it's worth the extra $$$.

Anytime. I'm pretty new myself. There are a lot of knowledgeable people out here. Just make sure you read the manual first before you post a question..

In case you haven't seen this, check out some of the member's custom splashes: http://mpc-forums.com/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=64096&hilit=+photoshop
