cheap floppy disk make more noise than others?

i have some cheap imation floppy disk and the whole time it is in the mpc you can hear it making a noise

but sony floppy disk hardly make no noise. i have to put my ear next to the floppy drive to hear it. i can hear the noise from the imation floppy from like 2 feet away. i'm not talking about when loading, you can hear a noise when its not loading. is that normal?

Yes, I've noticed that in other floppy drives as well, that there is some kind of movement most of the time & it just moves a lot faster when you are loading or saving. As for cheap floppies being noisier than expensive ones.....I guess that is why there is a difference in cost!!!
