2 simple MPC4k questions

1.) I have´nt figured out how to make a sample "cut it self", like in the 2000xl, where u just choose "mono" and the sample cut it selves.

2.) This should be easy, but i have´nt figured out how to pitch/tune a sample, without it makin a "noise" as it change the pitch, anyone know what i mean?

how to cut itself off.
go to program mode.

select a program and assign to a mute group. mute group one. to your right.

go to pitch and assign all pads to mute group one. and turn the poly down to one.




how to change pitch of sample

go to program mode.
go to edit.
towards the top you'll see something thats at 0.00 called tune or something i cant remember.
you adjust the pitch there.

I think mute group is not necessary for this task. PROGRAM mode > MISC. (F3) then set Polyphonic notes to 1. This will set polyphony for whole program. If you set it in PROGRAM > KG MIX > PITCH under Poly it's ok too, but it's rather for setting certain pads polyphony and I personally never used it this way hehe.
In MPC4K instead of Mono you have numericall polyphony where 1 polyphony means there can be only one sound playing at the moment, 2 means 2 sounds, 3 means 3 sounds etc. I've never used 2Kxl but that was what the friend told me so I hope it's right.

good lookin out. ive always done it on the pitch page. didnt even know this could be achecived on the misc. page. gonna have to try that.
