HARD DRIVE IN 2000XL

Has anyone ever tried putting a hard drive in an MPC XL 2000? It seems to me that a Harddrive can work in it because there is a IDE slot and available power. Just wanted to know if anyone ever done it......................

There is rom available through akai for the mpc. I don't know whether or not it is proprietary. I don't know enough about memory. I'd give akai tech support a call to see if the mpc can support a hard drive.
