I am also happy with my machine, having owned earlier models, I do miss some things:

-timing shift (the only one that really really bugs me)

-track velocity % adjustment in main screen
-auto-chromatic
-zones

I don't expect Akai to squeeze more audio processing in... but the sequencer should be capable of all the functions that the mpc series has been sportin for ages.

if I could add one audio process it would be phase invert... the ability to layer 4 drum sounds could actually be used as an example of why you may need phase invert...it almost points a mocking 4 pronged finger at the lack of such an audio process.

However, the functions right there in any audio editor software, and as every wav in my mpc is also right there linked to my desktop...there is no need to export from mpc.. I just locate the sample, apply the invert, append INV to the name , load it into the mpc..takes just 45 or so seconds...but it could take 5-10 seconds and thats why I think we need it.

no timing shift is by far my biggest dissapointment with the 1000.

why would they not include this extremely basic feature????

Yo Andreas!! Quick tip! Don't tell Mattmatiks where you live... ;)

My Friend was watching court TV one day and they had a guy on for murder, they mentioned what he killed him for, an Akai MPC 60!!!

No wonder Madlib only rocks a 303!!!

Right now I'm hopin to get a W30 and I'd like to get an S950... Since 60's are expensive as sh*t now and gettin harder to find... And S950's are pretty cheap... That W30 is really nice form what I've been readin too...

does the 505 have the lofi effect like the 303 cause that waveform editing wit dat jog wheel and a mpc 2000xl would be da **** fasho! 8)

Im very happy with my 1k it only froze up 1 time and that was 5 months ago when I still had the 1.0 OS. Now with the OS 1.04 everything is gravy thats why Im not even going to bother with the OS 1.05. My only real grip is that I wish the 1k had 8 mix outs like the 2k(if purchase the expansion board) and 3k instead of only 4.

Yo the 505 gets a real grungy sound just like the 303... And it has the same killer effects... It does have the lo-fi effect... Yea it's fire with that jog wheel editing and the built-in Wave Editor... It's easier than choppin it on the MPC

the 505 is a sick piece of gear, cats sleep, but If I was gonna be away from the MPC for months, I'd cop a 505 and a portable TT and be out.
