im having trouble placing swing on different tracks

im fairly new to the 1k, im at the point where im still sorta navigating around and experimenting, and trying to take some projects seriously...

i want to add different swings to different drums, kick, snares, hi-hats, this, that, etc... i cant seem get it, i dont knwo if my ears are't working or what.

any help is appreaciated.

i'm away from my 1k right now but lemme still try....
1.pick the track that has the instrument you want to add swing to
2.press F1(T.C.)
3.pick note value you want to use(i usually use 1/16)
4.go to Swing and adjust it(i usually find the best swing to be 60-65 personally)
5.THEN hit the pad(s) with the sound you want it applied to
6.hit DO IT

there you go,you got that swing homie!!!

but let say i got back into the swing menu, does it erase or go back to the default setting? thanks

nope...it stays,it doesn't default /erase unless you adjust it back down to 50%.

Try this:

1. Track1: Record a basic bass/snare hip hop beat at about 90bpm.
2. Change TC to 1/8 50%
3. Track2: Hold down note repeat and record a HH pattern
4. Change TC to 1/16 62%
5. Track3: Hold down note repeat and record a shaker

You should be able to hear the swing feeling introduced when you use the shaker on top of the 1/8 high hat with no swing.

You can use swing very sublty or more pronounced. TC can be done in two ways as well:

1. TC when you are recording...like above example..when mpc is recording
2. TC on a track after...the mpc is not playing when u do this.

Hope this helps...mpc TC and NOTE REPEAT is one of the coolest things about it.
