i bought my mpc and it seems to have a smudge on one of the pads, do u think i should use a swiffer pad to clean it , the underside of my t shirt, or a sham wow ? i thought i heard akai was coming out with special MPC wipes, is this true ? if it is , i will just wait til they are available at GC and use that to clean it. but i hope they come out soon, i just spent $600 on a used 1K and i want to be able to use it in the next 6th months. i already got my midi cord hooked up and ready to go. I bought the most expensive one but i hope its loud enough. I hope one day they come out with an MPC that lets you sample other things besides just vinyl.

Like ya'll wouldn't put this type of shit past some of the people that post here.
Dont get it twisted, i really enjoy helping people out where i can, but even in this thread, like it isn't possible to find a BIG ASS PIC of the 1k and use it as a reference to what it should look like.

yeah I thought this too on my 2500 once.. I took the top cover off to clean it and there are little lint washers that go over the shaft of the volume & rec knobs to shield from dust. I forgot to put em back on when I replaced the case.
and Im lookin at it like.. damn? why are the holes SO BIG around the vol n rec knobs.. then it hit me.
duh

the kid dropped a grand on something, and you expect him to not be nervous when he sees shit that looks off. Ya he couldve found a giant picture online, but does he know that? probably not, considering he posted it on a forum made up of people who own these, who are supposed to be talking and helping one another with issues regarding these...

You people give this kid shit when youre all probably miserable ****, was it harder to write a rant or to say "thats how the mpc 1k always looks"? If you don't like answering questions, don't go on a forum, and don't read posts. And if you like being an ****, then keep it to posts that are actually useless, not a new customer and probably new site member who's generally interested in if he got a shotty peice of equipment.
