Feedback

Pretty new to the MPC 500 and still learning some tricks and such, I completed my first real jam that I tried to mix and that type of stuff. I just wanted to get some feedback from those who have been doing this for a bit and just some suggestions, and how you overall feel about it. Oh, and the only reason I sampled a rock song was because I've been bumping slaughterhouse for a while now haha. But heres the link: http://profile.myspace.com/gooddaybeats

first and foremost .....for being new to the MPC , Thats kinda fire, but for me , i would switch the drums up a little.

1 Add a little variation to the drums, Its too repetitive .

maybe double up on the snare every other bar or do a 2-4 bar drum sequence and double the snare at the end

2 Bring ur sample out in the mix more, and lower the drums a little. with a track like that , u want the drums to blend nicely , not sit on top.

3 Lower the other part of the sample flip, its just a little louder than the main part .

Other than that. Its good, and im definitely feeling the vibe of it.

I agree with the volume levels as you were saying. I still need to be more patient when I mix everything and put the sequences together.
And as for it being my first jam, I should rephrase it as "the first beat I've made that I've been somewhat satisified with"

not bad for just learnin the 5.... I'd werk on the mix and do somethin like add a perc or somethin to get those drums flowin a lil more and reduce the repetitiveness by throwin something slightly diff in every 4 bars or somethin along those lines... definitely feelin the groove tho, thnx for sharin
