i think about five semitones (i did a rough calculation: 33.33/45 * 1.06(thats about a semi tone i think)^5 is approximately 1
which means that through the pitching up and down, eventually, you got the same speed before and after

Now you tell me that -5 tuning will reduce a sample played at 45 back to the original ?. If you don't know what your talking then just don't say nothing at all peterpiper, unless you cannot hear the difference in pitch ?

Some facts:
1. A semitone is the 12th of an octave.
2. A semitone in samplers is divided in smaller settings often called cents, fine tuning etc
3. Different samplers use different amounts of cents (Emu E4 Series use +/-64 cents, Akai S950 use +/-99 cent)
4. The Akai MPC doesn't distinguish between coarse and fine tuning. The parameter TUNE already is the tuning in cents. A semitone is devided in 10 cents.


now do the math. how many cents do you need to tune the sample down 5 semitones?????

BTW you already could have the answer by listening to your sample while tuning :mrgreen:

The number value for tuning is different on some of the different MPC's. I think the OP should tell us which MPC they are using.

For example the tuning values on the 2xl are different than they are on the 1000.
