Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Sup ya'll. I am fairly new to the MPC world. I was wondering about this. When I making a beat I only want one drum from X programs and a snare from Y program. But when I load a program, all my pads are used up and it erases the previous program from the RAM. Does this mean if I want this drum and that snare from different programs then I have to search through all my sounds and create new programs? U understand what I am talking about

Are you sure when you load a new program it erases the old one?!?!You should be able to have both the old programs loaded together & you scroll between them on the top line of the PROGRAM menu. All the sounds from those two will be in your RAM. Then start making a new program for the new beat, scrolling through the samples in RAM.

Be sure to Select Drum1 for one program & Drum2 for another so u have immediate access to both.

What seems to be happening, is your loading programs over Drum 1, so yes they will over right the previous program (via the pads) but it is still in the RAM.

Hit SHIFT>F6

From here you can see your programs and reassign them

Bravo and featherboy said is right... It shouldn't be erasing the other program just loading the other one in a seperate drum program... Unless you're hitting Clear instead of load from the LOAD screen... If you do that it will clear out all other programs and just load the one you're trying to load...
