See, there goes, P.B.E.buda playing the cool-guy routine, like he's too tough to care. That's just stupid. Talk to me after you really do lose full use of your hands.

That's when you see people with claw-hands, in braces, unable to do the simplest things without pain. Good luck making music with that, you'll need some foot pads to stomp.

FROM PLAYING MPC PADS?

LMFAO

I been banging on mpc pads since 1998 and my hands are just fine.
And I hit the pads hard. while I do understand what your saying, and agree mostly, I think it has little bearing here, with mpc pads.

Triple-X, but do you have a sore finger like the original poster? Everyone is different and does things differently, pain is a symptom with meaning.

Even if someone doesn't have pain, for some it takes a good 10-20 years of repetitive stress before it does anything noticeable.

But that's not a guarantee. It depends on individual situations. Like, I think some kinds of weightlifting prevent these kinds of injuries.

We don't really know, until there's obvious signals, like sore fingers. If you have pain, you know you've got a problem.

some of yall should take this more seriously. The younger cats or dudes with no injuries might not feel anything but I actually pay very close attention to how I use the MPC. You would be surprised to see how much shock you really put on your fingers with the pads. I personally stopped beating on them so bad because old injuries felt like they were resurfacing. I broke one of my hands and 2 fingers a few years ago. I also severed the end of another finger and had it re attached. If I sit on the MPC for a few hours and beat on the pads I can feel all those injuries and the next day my sh*ts be in pain.

Welcome to the MPC500 forum like 6 months ago. All we could talk about was padless MPCs.

Can understand the pads on the 500/1000 can feel less comfortable. I never had problems with my fingers but I had problems in my upperback, rearside of the shoulders and neck when I was still on my 1000.
Because of it's smaller interface I had to force my shoulders slightly forward to keep both hands on deck.
With the 2500 I can let my shoulders hang into their natural position.

Some will think that is BS. Every body is different. As long as ur comfortable when making beats

Would I be able to see a picture of your padless mpc? it seems very pointless to buy something meant for hitting the pads to sample, and ending up removing the pads.

Here we go again.

I remember what happened with the last thread about this padless 500...

You're banging on little pads, grow the **** up if it hurts don't do it so hard. You don't think guitarists don't get calluses and cuts. Jack White bled all over his guitar at one concert...and Jamon you're a clown dude has a video of him opening a zoom multitrack on cellophane like he's dexter or something....wtf.

There could be some long term effects for sure if your really pounding on your Mp. I bought my Mp1k off of ebay and it had the original pads. Now that was a serious problem! I had to POUND on those suckers to get a sound. I had never seen any MPC in person, so I wasn't sure if I was doing something wrong or if there was just a setting that I had to adjust. Anyways, that led me to the forum. Once I finally got the pad fix from Akai, all was well. I don't know if the pads on the 500 are less sensative than the newer 1000 pads, but with the pads set to their most sensative, I have no problem at all. I don't really pound the pads, for the most part, I just press them. If this was a major issue on the 500 forum, then I would imagine that the 500 is much less sensative than the 1k. I am using JJ though, and I believe he has added more settings to deal with this.

Jamon, I checked out your video and I really like what your doing. I always like to see people using their Mp's for different styles. You may have answered this already, but have you tested out any of the other Mp models? Good luck...
