Time to say 'goodbye' ....

Alas, it's with a tear in my eye and slightly heavy heart that I must bid many of you on here a fond farewell !

I have enjoyed my little MPC indulgence, although I am heading back to my software based environment ( don't worry, my lil black 1000 will still sit comfortably in one corner of my studio setup keeping a watchful eye over my beat making, until someone wants it from me at a decent price, that is ).

So, along with this, I shall be heading away from these forums too .... I will drop in once in a while just to check out the 'Off Topic' ( given me cause for many a good laugh and argument over the past year ).

I would like to wish many of you good fortune and may Lady-Luck regularly find herself in your collective company throughout the remainder of the year and beyond ! To Lampdog, Coz, Nim, Poundaproblem and many others whom I can't think of right now, keep your efforts honest and your heads to the sky.

Thanks for the help, support and humour along the way ...

I feel like i'm at the start of something good with mine. I've had it a few months and it's only in the past few days that i've really devoted some time to it. I now have a nice setup with sounds provided by my daw and control and sequencing by the mpc in conjunction with Live. Getting the sounds into my mpc from my host was a bit of a palava so i ended up routing my soundcard straight into the mpc and my monitors to the outs of the mpc to streamline workflow.

Now i can record from any source and when i'm ready to play live i can record my tracks straight into the mpc. I've just been trying it with Guru and it works beautifully. I can't think of a better setup than that right now. I'm probably going to add an analog synth soon but i think i've finally found the perfect balance of hard and software.

If i was only using software i would probably have a maschine but i'd rather take the mpc gigging and leave rest of my gear at home. One thing i think the mpc has that nothing else does is flexibility to be used in many ways.

this machine definitely grows on you... it's a very powerful sampler with jjos. i'd only ever sell mine if i needed to upgrade to an mpc2500... and that would only happen if i needed more outputs for a particular project or something like that...

That it does. It's great for quickly getting an idea down, that's what i like about it; it's focused. Not too keen on the green screen though! Some of the mods i've seen are nice, electric blue or white would be preferable.

I've been using it with FL recently and the two work really well together. No sync issues anyway! I think FL could be a viable alternative to maschine and 9 adds some nice workflow improvements. I like how it's very easy to map pads with the fpc and link the qlink sliders to control any plugins parameters. It's easier to set up and configure for use with mpc the than live plus it has more comprehensive export options. I only wish my soundcard had digital outs for resampling.
