Not everything is meant to go back together the same way, but still could be worth a try. Part of the green comes from the film behind the LCD though. Probably need to replace that as well. I've played with older LCD's, and all of that stuff really isn't meant to come apart, and you don't want finger prints or dust up in there.

Good luck though! :)

So to those who have worked with both, which do you prefer: Blue or White? The green is getting old!

White is still tight.

Sometimes I think about it though, and wonder if we would all be sweating the green screens if they didn't come with em.

This is my 2500 with the white screen. Really nice. The flash washed out the backlight on the second shot.

I MUST HAVE THIS!!!!!

PLEASE PM ME PERSONALLY AS SOON AS THESE ARE AVAILABLE AND I WILL BUY ONE!!!!!

seriously. I have to have that. I cant stand the green.. mine looks yellow even. Plus it has a line out.

Also on the needleworks site (and forgive me if U have answered this a million times) But the LEDs up there are obviously not the same oem ones used in the mpc, although they work. My concern is they appear to be MUCH brighter.

Has nobody been able to locate the same type of LEDs that Akai uses (the flat ones) by utilizing the Part numbers from the service manual?

I have searched with no luck and would be very interested in obtaining some in white or blue.

Thanks for clearing that up guys! lol not making it very easy for me to choose...guess it doesn't matter since I got impatient and ordered a blue one

Triple-X, I want to know the same things about the LED's...the ones on needlewerk are tooooo bright. I would like to find some that are the same as the stock LED's- anyone have a link?

I'm wondering if you try this on the blue screec you should have a white back with blue characters?

:?:

Nah but that looks interesting tho. I have been looking into to doing it the real way be reversing the polarity of the LCD like I had seen or read somewhere else (with mpc LCD's, but cant find now). A buddy of mine with a 5000 wants to do that, and wants to let me. I will be happy to try it with GOOD instructions too.

but in the meantime I am LOVING my White LCD on my 2500. its GREAT!!! SOOOO much better than the green. actually my akai screen was more yellowish green really. Not pure green like Explicits i guess u could say.

but I could rock the blue too. I just completely favor DARK text on a Like background where the mpc is concerned.

I want to buy the white one too IMO it looks better and do not irritate your eyes like the blue one, at least that's what I think...
but that needleworkz page is not working anymore... VST only have the blue one and mpcstuff too...

Same here was kind of bummed when I couldn't get a white one for the 1000, but may look into doing this to the blue screen...if there are good instructions like TripleX said...if I were to find some, I'd definitely try it on the green on first
