It's pretty simple... no matter how GOOD Waves is, it just doesn't function without a computer around. I've tried sitting the
retail box on my 4000 but no go. So I've found that outboard FX gear works much better in my studio as it doesn't require a computer
and boots up immediately.

But all joking aside, the internal FX can be useful. Though you only get 4 FX busses, you do get 96 separate Send Levels,
one for each pad in a Drum Kit, and you can have Mulitple Drum Kits set up this way.
You can do that with Wave's or external FX but that is a LOT of seperate takes and takes away from the immediacy of
turning from 808Flange+Delay+PitchShiftKit, and jumping to the 909tapeechoeistorionchorusKit. You can have hundreds
of these kits loaded up with different FX setting and switch between them immediately on the fly, and have all 96 drum sounds
FX setttings change at once.

Remember both limits and mistakes can be VERY useful in the creative process.

Why resample with fxs?


Why resample with the command fxs?


Why record a sample with effect in the first recording or why not?


Why resample with efxs within desktop audio editor like Bias Peak and then use aksys to transfer it back to the 4k?


Why keep the samples dry in the 4k?


Why use the 4k effects in a series?


Why use the 4k effects in parallel?


Keep it going to help newcomers and others to share the knowledge even if it`s basic.

Why time stretch each 1/4 note chop?

Why use Aksys to chop, compress, fade, and loop a sample in an external audio editor?

Extra, extra Why buy and use the iPhone app MusicMath to use with your 4k effects?

to fit your tempo I suppose.

But With the 4 I usually detune to make the chops fit then Pitch Adjust in the sample edit window, to take the chops back to original pitch and I actually prefer the sound it makes afterwards opposed to time stretching.

As for a Aksys is good to sample with a audio editor like Bias Peak on mac or Sound Forge on Wins and sample the whole song.
Then go through finding different regions to use, loop, effect with third party effects like eqs, compressors, and such, normalize and timestretch if need be. I can then export the ready to go regions or load back the whole sample with the chop points into the mpc and chop from there.

As for the MusicMath app check it out to use with your 4k effects like chorus, delay, wah, wah, and phaser set with tempo which the other mpcs show the note value and the 4k didn`t.
