What daw do You use to track ur beats?

Hey Peeps, Jus Wondered what daw you guys are using to track ur beats,

How did you find the results, compared to other daws?

At the mo, Im using Logic, But im looking into protools

well you didn't even comment on your thread title... so dont try and pull that. you are the one spamming the forum not me.


and I use:
cubase for 2 tracking
nuendo for more complex stuff, and multi tracking
audacity for when I am tracking only drum loops

I use recycle sometimes to make rex files from drum loops
reason to play with those rex files and add things to them

fl studio to chop those things up on the slicer.. and to sequence them with VST pluggins and what not

sometimes i play with sampletude also..

I experiment with different DAWs to keep it interesting and different.

edit: i noticed you did write that you use logic... i would have thought you would use something other then what 90% of the forum uses

Maybe its best to keep it refreshing, ive used cubase, and nuendo before, ive also used fl, reason, and cool edits


Ive been hearing some good stuff about protools m powered though

what are you tracking from? an MPC, synth? live instruments?


I think different DAWs might be better used for different purposes, well besides pro tools of course which is pretty standard for everything.

there are dozens of different ones to choose.

Tracktion feels simpler. In v2 the inputs are these little things you drag, and their arrows stick to the track, and you pull the inputs off as the arrows stretch like elastic tentacles trying to stay attached. Then filters are right there to the right of the track, so you can just drop a reverb in there, and see the chain visually, or drop a VSTi the same as a filter, but on a MIDI track. The MIDI and audio are the same right there on the main screen, you can stretch the track to edit the notes or see the audio.

It used to be a JJ situation, with a single crazy developer who was constantly releasing updates. But then it got bought out and sold under the Mackie name, so it lost its magical touch. The current version is 3, but I have 2 because that was the last real version before the full takeover.

Haven't used Tracktion in a long time though, exploring hardware now.

Reaper 3 and Tascam FW-1082 as my audio interface/control surface. Reaper has been a Godsend.
