os2 on the fence

would you all say you got your money's worth it on os2? im on the fence still (using os1 5.56), i like a couple features (tune in trim mode, and step edit from main screen-damn feature was on 2xl, should have been there from the start, and the pad assign from main window) but im on the fence because im gettin by just fine without those features, i guess im trying to justify 100 bucks, or should i spend 100 bucks towards records or something?..............

any of you guys actually use non destructive chop feature? im wondering, ive tried it ou using the trial, but im just curious if you guys use that feature, seems like you could easily change start or end point on accident.

i also like the ability to have uneven zones/slices with the non destructive chop, like slice 1 can overlap slice 2, etc. if jj implemented that on regular chop, that would be nice......i think mpc4k has that? i forget....

i'm in the same boat, very comfortable with os1 but feel i'm missing out. i have not heard anyone saying they switched back to os1 from 2/xl, so thats a good thing i guess. but you gots to justify the purchase somehow..

non destructive chop, is that fully functional with overlapping?

aaaaaaaaand here's another in the boat- I finally bought OS1 after using the free version for so long...I dig OS1, but haven't made the leap to OS2 yet

the only issues with os1 i have are..

the tempo bug.....AAAAARRRRGHH, when you get quick with doing anything it changes dramtically. and i'm quick all the time. glad i don't use it live, you guys get this?

You talking about tapping? I can't really get anything too accurate with tapping- and it's not a rhythm issue

I use the tap tempo to get me in the ballpark and them I have to dial it in afterwards to get more precise.

i don't use tap tempo, just the tempo changes without me controlling it when i'm changing filter setting really quick changing alot of shit.. i hope it's not only me, i'll checkout the bug list..

I've just moved from OS1 to OS2. Haven't had much time to look at it yet but really like the non-destructive chop feature, especially being able to hit pads to hear the different chops while in the trim screen.

yeah, that one is big......

it would be nice if you could extract the slices from non destructive chop if you wanted, i guess some might disagree, sort of the whole point on ndchop but sometimes i make beats and the start/end points are crucial to the vibe of the beat so i always trim/discart the ends to ensure the sample persists the start point i want. ya know.

word! so you chop a sample into 16, then you hit any pad say 7, and it plays chop 7? what about +16 chops, do bank buttons work? or am i misunderstanding...?

could have me sold on that one.

Yeah, i noticed one thing that is wierd, even if you specify less slice points on a sample, like 8, it still creates 32 chops no matter what, it would be nice if it didnt do that, that way you wouldnt have extra assignments in your pgm.

is NDC present in 2xl?

so why else should i change my consistently smooth workflow for os2 or xl?
