it looks dope to me, look at all those effects! I think it will be a great tool for recording my mpc work, also im a reason user, so it will be even easier to implement my mpc beats along with reason,, its a win win..

well i guess the only pluggins you use are the ones in reason. personally i like to add VST instrumentation to some songs... which is not possible on record alone. it however is probably possible to load up my VSTs in cubase and rewire it into record..... but that defeats the purpose, doesn't it.

yea, i guess it does..... i just cant see needing anything else, but if ya did there is always rewire..... im pretty stoked about record, this is gonna bring my mpc and reason even closer together

I beta tested Record and it's as easy to use as Reason.
I recorded a 4bar loop from my mpc directly into Record without being synced and it looped perfectly in Record. The sound quality is better then Reason's. I also found that I could manipulate my audio easier than I could in Ableton, that's just me though.
I'm sure it wont replace Logic or Protools but if you're just into recording beats or instrumentals it's worth checking out.

i thought rewire and reason used the same audio engine... how could the sound quality be better?


edit: record, not rewire... lol but i think you know what i meant. Damn propellerhead and all their "RE" products!

Yes Reason and Record share the same audio engine but I opened up a couple of Reason song files in Record and when I played them back they sounded better. There are more then a few people who beta tested that thought that Record used a different audio engine

I would never support a company who dictate me what kind of plugins I'll have to use. I am somebody and can choose for myself. Ef Propellerhead for that.
It doesnt speak for propellerhead that they doesnt seem to trust their own plugin quality. If their plugins are that good, they wouldn't need to do such a bitchmove cause the plugins would sell anyway.

yeah it may have been invented a long time ago, but they are still making technologically new things that support the VST standard.

Lets talk about MPCs.....or wait lets talk about the Technics SL1210.....no lets talk about turntables and records in general...
we could also talk about the power stations you get your power from. Is it new millenium technology or is it a AKW or coal fired power station?
What about your car. Does it have a "new millenium" motor, or does it need gasoline or diesel ??

my turntable has digital output.
compose music with software
ride bike or take public transport.
real simple
all of your points are moot to me.



the only old technology I hang on to is vinyl records.
but as soon as the get digitized, i get rid of them.


al I'm saying about record is, don't let vst keep you from trying it out.

propellerheads make good software, that always works well
