Not complete

I make a beat and i usually include snare, kick drum, hats , bass and ill through in like a synth or piano..etc but for some reason my beats never sound complete. I like how RJd2 layers all those drums, is that what i'm missing or am i not missing anything. Somebody help me out with some good tips.

Mos likely what you're missing is either in the Mastering or the Mxiing of the beats... Those are things you would do down the line when you're ready to market your stuff... So I say don't even stress over it...

Either it's that or it's just in your head... I used to beat myself up thinking my beats were missing something... I played my sh*t for a lot of people and they thought that my "completed" version sounded too cluttered... I stripped some things out, And, What I thought sound incomplete they thought sounded perfect...

I love RJ's production too, but sometimes simplicity can give off a really complex feel... Trust me...

i like simple, most of premos beats are simple, but yet complex at the same time

I agree with MattMatiks PG about mastering, or mixing it a little better, in most rap or dance music if you get the kick drum and bass sounding strong and full then the rest of the song seems to fall into place.

Work with an accappella on top to check how it sounds.

Very good Idea... If you have a professionally produced vocal track from like JadaKiss or anybody for that matter... An dit sits in the mix right.. Then you know it's up there... And if itdon't sit right... Play with it till it does and learn from that experience...
