hey whats going on people?

im fairly new to the MPC, and drum machines/sequencers in general.

overall im pleased with my sorta recent purchase on a MPC1000.

i gotta question, im a fairly active guy, and ever since ive gotten my MPC, i have been feeling tired, lazy, and unhealthy in general - mainly becasue im finding myself sit stationary for a few hours at a time.

my question is this fine? does anyone else get this?

i take breaks every hour at least, but sometime i just get in this headstate and dont even notice the time. its usually late a night when inturruptions are minimal.

also i notice my fingers sorta get sore in the morning, if im banging out drum loops like madd the night before - sorta funny if you ask me, butun confortable. again, anyoen else get this?

thanks in advance

I'm pretty sure everyone gets this... We do crazy things for our art form...

I read an article where Madlib said he got so caught up in this rush of creativity that he stayed up for like 72 hours straight mixing down tracks... After that he slept for like another 2 days...

I know I've personally not gone to sleep because at like around 3 in the morning I get up out of bed because I just though of an incredibly awesome thing to do with one sample and it'll kill me if I don't do it right then and there... A few hours later and all of a sudden I got a banger or two laid out and the suns fully up...

The key is to learn to balance your time making music and not making music - join a gym - write some beats for like 4 or 5 hours then hit up the gym for an hour

I usually go to the gym before my beat making sessions and then walk the dog when I need a break - alot of record producers are in shape except for a few fat ones, but that could be some genetic sh!t

What are you guys tired for? Make some beats, get some groove, and your potatoes won't get mashed!
