i know what these guys are sayng.
this year i bought an mpc 500.
had to return it to the shop and change it for a 1000.
that thing is totally unsensitive, lets say you need a force that will trigger a velocity number of 40 to get the minimum sound out of it.
then, from that force to FULL LEVEL, its all good.
but it has a very nasty high threshold , and akai doesnt seem to care.
even the 1000 with new pads has a similar problem, but with jj os you can tweak it a lot more than with akai os, so its about good (not perfect as my mpc4000 was but near).
mpc 500 has the worst pad sensitivity of the whole line.
it really hurts yer fingers, you tough guys. go play with it an hour then you tell me.
its not for me. now happy with 1k jjos2xl
