good bass samples?

Find a good bass sample (takes a good ear, patience and some experience)
Run it through an equilizer with the right settings (takes a good ear, patience and some practice)
Sample it, chop it whatever. Use filters/shelf equalizing and other fx availible (takes a good ear, patience, experience, practice and creativity).

rock music and blue note records. Bass all over that sorta stuff, I always think if ur looking for bass licks or notes through diggin then find em and then reinforce them with a synth bass to give it the punch you want and to give it a place in ur mix!
