hi everybody.
im new on ableton live and i just cant get it to work the way i want

i have mpc midi out connected to my soundcard and live responds to the midi signals

ex:
activetrack receive channel:All
soft thru: AS TRACK

i have mpc.track1 set to MIDI / MIDI: 1A

in ableton live im using "addictive drums VST "
it works ...

but then when i make a new miditrack in Live for another VST instrument is where the problem arrise
the recorded midinotes from the mpc only plays thru the Live.miditrack that is selected and armed

how do i set this up so that i can control multiple vst instruments miditracks in Live with the mpc1000?

to somehow get a miditrack in live Only to respond to a specific midichannel, ...

if my question is not clear please say so
thanks for any information

Set "Monitor:" to In, instead of Auto.

wow thanks alot...i did not know there was a midi menu like that one.. i found it unchecked under "view"

thanks alot doglamp!
yr my hero...

now theres only one problem left. if not the worst problem.

after some time live **** up and only play sounds on some of the midi signals.. although i can see that it receives all midi signals in the little yellow square but it refuse to play sounds .. only on a few.. problem dont solve unless i unload and reload the vst... if im using the midikeyboard it goes back to normal if i do a "reset" on the midikeyboard.

with the mpc i have not found a temporary solution like that..
anyways the problem needs to be fixed if im going to use ableton at all.

if happens sporadically after 10/20/30th minute or so

any ideas what causes this ****?

You might be accidentally recording over them?

Arm one track at a time. If you want to record MIDI onto multiple tracks, and one of the tracks already has data (that you want to keep) enable the overdub button (OVR).

noo this happends if im just playing the keyboard to a loaded vst without recording anything

or it suddenly happends in play when im very far from the computer not touching anything...i
cant find any logic why it just happends like that..

i noticed that if i remove "REMOTE" in midisettings (ableton) everythign starts to play normally again..
wierd thing is that it works for some time until it just goes bananas like that

then if i turn Remote on again it **** up again

(ex, play every 5second midinote and then every 6 and then every 3 etc with no pattern what so ever, but ableton do recieves the midi signals in perfect sync its only the sounds/samples that come ut like that)

and if i turn it off it works ,, etc....

*suck*

Explain this part again please.

hmm
its difficult to explain actually.
thanks for trying to help. ok

for example:

im playing my midikeyboard with an vstinstrument
everything is perfect with no latency or any errors...
then suddenly (lets say 15 minutes after loading the vst instrument)
sounds stops playing. if i push one key for 30 times a few samples gets played in no order at all . for example on the 7th push the 15th and the 28th.

wierd thing is that i can see in the upper right corner (the midi signal indicator square) that every keystroke is received .

if i do a reset on my midikeyboard (midiselect button +reset) it goes back to normal
or if i switch off "REMOTE" inside ableton midi settings. (if i turn remote on again problem continues)

there is nothing wrong with my midikeyboard controller since i get the same thing with recorded midi notes and also when using my mpc1000.....

Just leave it off, and / or try experimenting with these settings: Takeover Mode, Track, Sync, Remote. Make sure the Sync Type matches the one on the MPC. The two different sync types are: Midi Clock and Midi Time Code.
