ram upgrade

hello to all,

I have an issue with my OS....it reads bootblock and is
searching for a file in the OS that it is having trouble finding...

If I purchase RAM or a Ram upgrade on line...and install it...

will this fix the problem???...I do not want to send it in....how else
would I get this working again???...I can not reset it...or have not been able to
reset it...........ugh!

any info will help...I love my MPC1000...but not when it freezes up on me!

Have you tried reinstalling your OS?

Just download the OS you want, copy the BIN. file to a CF card (using a memory card reader if you cant access the usb mode on the mpc), then hold down WINDOW & turn on your machine.. I would think that would fix it..
I dont think that the RAM upgrade would really make a difference.. It should be working anyway. Have you tried resetting the machine by holding down the ERASE key and turning it on? Or simply turning the machine on without having the memory card in... It could be that.
Personally I think if none of that fixes it then you should send it away aslong as its under warranty, order the RAM anyway as its worth having but even if that does fix the problem it would still be better getting it sorted properly while you can.

IN FACT:
It goes to that BOOTBLOCK screen when you try to install a OS and tries to locate a BIN. file (the OS), is that what its doing? because if it is then maybe the WINDOW key is stuck in and so tries to load an OS file when you turn it on?? Or maybe the OS is currupted and NEEDS reinstalling?
