I've noticed that whenever I used certain external hardware equipment hooked up to the 5k, the midi input indicator (only on OS 2) would constantly flash off and on, even when both machines are idle.

How is it possible that an idle machine is sending out midi data?

So that flow of data, plus the sequencer going at the same time could be the reason we get frequent crashes. Like a buffer overflow...

Does your sound modules send out midi data while idle? (check near the bottom right of your screen and look for the midi icon to flash)

ok... my prophet 8 and my omega 8 did the same as well... I just believe that when the mpc gets random midi data while in sequence or loading, it will lock up...
