Hi i currently use software and a mpc 500, i have always wanted to get a 2500, i still want to keep my 500 as i love it, and its great for on the on stuff.. but for some reason i am torn between a 2000xl and a 2500.. Im thinking 2500 and jjos is my best bet, but something inside is saying 2000xl.... what do you guys think? if you could do it all over again, what would you get??

If u really need an upgrade then go for the 2500. Also the compatibility with the 500 would be a big plus for me.
If ur satisfied with the way things go on ur mpc500 and u just want something extra's for a different type of workflow so now and then I would go for the 2kxl.

Go with the 2500... more options than a 2KXL.

There's a 2500 on its way, so I can compare workflow and build quality to my 500. If you wait I'll share my findings.

I don't think 2500 to 500 is a fair comparison.

If your basicaly going to record into a daw i wouldnt worry so much about the extra features on JJOS,
I feel JJOS benefits mostly towards intermediate choppers and users who master and mix all on the mpc as oppose to tracking into a daw. i feel the xl has a better sound, the work flow may not be as smooth but im more concerned with the resulting sound
compared to work flow because any feature that jjos provides i can ultimatley do the same in ableton.

XL its not about the features
