MPC2500 Hard Drive

Is 120GB the largest hard drive you can put inside the 2500 or can you put a bigger one, because i'm getting ready to upgrade from my 80GB one.

From what I understand you you can use any 2.5' IDE hard drive. You just have to format the drive in FAT32 for the mpc the recognize it. I have a 160GB(SAMSUNG Spinpoint M5 HM160HC 160GB 5400 RPM 2.5" ATA) drive that works fine.

The only thing is I had to format it to FAT32 using windows for the 2500 to reognize it. The mpc can't format drives larger than 80GB thats the limitation.

I have a Western Digital Scorpio Blue 160 GB (WD1600VERTL). I didn't do any formatting at all and it recognizes the whole 160GB.

Is it possible you can format the hard drive with Mac OSX

Your drive must have have already been formatted. I'm pretty sure the MPC did not format a 160GB hard drive.
