anybody use their mpc 1000 in conjunction with garageband?

just wondering ... is there a way to sync the two? how's the mastering abilities with it?

Im not sayin its a fact cuz i dont know everybody on here, but i think its mostly hip-hop people on these forums.

What does hip hop have anything to do with garage band?

I use it every now and then. I just set up the tempos the same, Get rid of the snap to grind, and record every track one by one. So you can mix it. Its pretty easy to use. Use the help in garage band if you need anything. It works pretty good,

forreal what does hip hop have to do with using garageband? oh well ... i tried using the mpc as a midi controller for my sounds in garage band but couldn't figure it out. the akai manual dooesn't cover this too well neither.

here's my setup ... mpc 1000 midi cable to tascam us 122 to usb apple garageband

i tried doing what the akai manual said by swithching it from drum mode to midi mode then turned the program off. still no results. note, this is the first time i've tried to use the 1000 as a midi controller - and i really have no experience with midi in general.

any help is good help

Your better of buying a midi key board if you just want it to set off midi notes in your computer...
Cause garage band is basicly a sequencer as well as the mpc, I donno what do you have the mpc controlling >?

I thought you were talkin about people playing an MPC live with a band. A garage band. So i was sayin, i think most people on here do hip-hop. And most garage bands are rock type shit.

hey, its okay. we all make mistakes. but does anybody here know how to use the mpc 1000 as a midi controller?

In the main seq page, set MIDI to a proper port & channel. Any pads you hit will play out that MIDI port.
