Does anyone else's 1000 occasionally not trigger samples

with instructions/explination of what samples and roughly when they drop out?

well im having my first problem like this after owning it for almost 6 months now. But mine is bad I play a 4 bar loop with some hi hats at 1/8 time. and it misses almost 2 hi hats each time. WTF.....

ok I emailed Akai with a audio sample of what was happening. This shit better get fixed because this machine is USELESS with this problem

save a project file and post it. That way others can recreate it, and if that happens, akai can recreate it, & solve the problem.

I bought this thing because i wanted that so called mpc swing...but too my dissapointment this thing has proved to be nothing more than a bug infested toy, so i will most likely be getting rid of it...too bad

Has anyone ever noticed sounds not being triggered when using the 1000 purely to sequence external modules (no internal sounds)??

yup that was what my problem was, now it went away....

These bug reports put me off buying this, . I was looking for something to play live...

for the people having problems -- what version OS was your mpc on when you bought it??

mine does the same thing its probley a soft ware problem.there man made lets not for get.

i had my 1000 for about 2 months, wrote a bunch of beats on it and all the time i am thinking that its sounds a bit suspect. to my ears it didnt always sound tight, there were times when a sample would drop out like people are describing on this thread, and the same sample would playback differently. i have run a bunch of tests on the mpc1000, by making multiple recordings of the same loop and comparing the audio waves and i found heaps of problems. (missing samples, shonkey timing) i have been trying to get akai to listen to me about this and everyone i speak to runs the company line that i need to upgrade my OS or says "geez, ill pass it on to someone up the chain". i say that more people start complaining directly to akai, and yelling at people if necessary. we all have a year warranty and if we can figure out cause for demanding a refund we could stand more of a chance of having these problems addressed in our own time, not when akai feels good and ready. if you bought a car with this many defects someone would be getting their **** sued off by now. if anyone has experience any timing problems with the machine i would really like to know.

I brougth my mpc1000 back to the shop with the following defects:
1. When the compressor's gain is -14 or lower, clicks occur at the end of the sample.
2. The compressor's attack at full level is so short it's useless for drum compression.
3. The not triggering of samples, where this thread is all about.

When I phoned the shop after a while, they said Akai Repair was waiting for a main board from Japan. The shop lend me another mpc1000 with EXACTLY the SAME BUGS.
So now I'm very curious what will happen when they return my old mpc. Will the bugs be gone or will they come up with some kind of story. I let you know.
