resetting mpc to factory settings

hello,

i have mpc 2000 xl and since today i managed to assign sample onto pads, but now it isn't possible anymore. can anyone tell me how to reset mpc to factory setting?

i've done it a few times, but no changes so far. the machine says that scsi is not ready.

Are you trying to load sounds from a SCSI device?

Make sure that you plug in the SCSI device to the MPC only when both the SCSI device and the MPC are off.
Turn on the SCSI device before you turn on your MPC.

If this doesn't work, double check the SCSI ID to make sure it is correct and double check the cabling to make sure everything is connected.

Hotswapping SCSI devices on an MPC can lead to bad things -- the easiest of which to fix is the internal SCSI fuse -- which is only easy if you know how to or know someone who solders.

i've used this scsi device for a few months and it has been in fully working order. isn't it possible that i have changed some setting accidentally and this can cause the trouble, because it isn't possible to load samples from floppy discs either.

How much free memory is available in your 2000XL?

Do you have the FlashROM board installed?

Are you getting any errors or messages when you are trying to assign sounds to the pads or loading a disk?

the memory has been maxed out, so that shouldn't be a problem. i don't know about the flashrom board, but earlier i could assign samples to pads without problems. the only error is 'scsi is not ready', but my mpc has always shown this.
