Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
By FullFaceScientist Fri Sep 11, 2009 12:01 pm
I have a bass, trumpet, electric guitar, acoustic, keyboards and I'd like to use them over/around my samples.

Provided I have them mic'd up or plugged into an AMP, Would I be able to sample this live work directly into the MPC?

(I'm not picky about being able to sample whilst the sequence is playing)

Sorry about the obviousness of the Q...I have a manual but it's for the 2000XL and I wasn't sure how much still applied to the 2000 Classic.

2k classic and xl cannot sample while sequencer is playing.

Get an audio interface with multiple inputs, connect your instruments to that and record them into a computer daw.
With that same audio interface connect your mpc, and record the audio outs into tracks in your computer daw.
With that same audio interface connect your microphone, and record vocals into tracks in your computer daw.

done.

MPC2000 inputs are Line level. Whatever you put in there has to be line level. Mics or phono turntables for example could not go directly in. Mic through a pre amp or phono turntables though a mixer with a phono input would work.
