Ask again in 24 hours. There is a show tomorrow where they could announce a new model. Otherwise, probably nothing any time soon.

did they ever announce anything at that show ?

don't they announce new stuff at NAMM most of the time ?

Wait and see. The doors open in a couple hours. Akai probably won't update instantly, but if there's a new MPC surely someone with a mobile internet device will leak the news.

Since the 2500 is discontinued, with the price cut last week, a 3500 is what would be announced. Unless Akai cares more about MIDI controllers for PC software, then no MPC.

This just in, MPC 3500. Same features as the 5000, except more bugs, static riddled inputs STANDARD and a screen that just displays "**** you" at every boot. Plus, new features include Random Reboot every 5-35 seconds, 1720 ppq, a disc drive that dont read, pads guranteed to fail after 3 months, and solid PLASTIC casing! all for the low introductory price of ONE ARM, and ONE LEG!!!!

(Non-working hard drive not included0
(CPU guranteed only 5 days after purchase)
