149.00 for a mini kp: looking at how this sampler will handle effects this box doubles as a portable effects box to put your ideas on that uses the same engine as the mini KP.
300.00 for an ensoniq EPS 16+: I've got to admit this instrument gives you the abilities to write multisamples programs and up to 8 can be loaded at the same time. Which reminds me of how ensoniq does it. Plus it gives you something similar to Ensoniq's sliding scale with some variation of what sound quality you can save the samples at. I know the AD/DA converters will be cleaner than an EPS 16+, but this effects section and the ability to resample will probably take care of things.
Learning multisampling is a much better approach at grasping sampling/sound design in general versus the phrase samplers out on the market. This sampler is a great stepping stone into buying vintage emu/ensoniq samplers that need a home as well, keyboard workstations, and software samplers like kontakt). All the other portable phrase samplers out in the market do help the new generation make beats quicker and master looping in general, but it takes them longer to grasp something like software samnplers.
You can take this sampler out to a beat battle and midi it up to some full size key novation controller and catch wreck. Wait a minute these keys look like they have a better response build than the microkorg so you probably will be able to just battle other producers with it by itself.
90.00 for audio software: This sampler comes with free editor software where you can edit and record samples onto and a program builder. I had to pay 30 dollars to be able to write programs for my 2000xl and 60 for reaper to chop my programs. Looking at their sample librarian software you can easily build and design kits.
40.00 for the XLR cable slot: The most cheapest m-audio sound interface costs 80 dollars and you only get one slot with this so i had to make due. I don't recall any portable sampler on the market that has that.
100.00 for the sequencer: I'm sure that its hard to put a price on the sequencer but at something with a midi resolution of 480ppq versus the mpc 96ppq should be notable especially for the live drummers who want to go nuts alongside situations where some beats have varying percussion. Is there any portable sampler out there that will beat or match 480 ppq resolution??
that adds up to 679 worth of instrument for 500......and I didn't even factor in its portability to the total costs.
Seriously, this thing is a beast and if I didn't need a workstation keyboard more, I would have already wired 500 to my friend in tokyo so they can nab me one in akihabara on the 19th. I hope this sells through store shelves because this machine is genius.

can anyone confirm if I can use this machine as a master sequencer? I wonder what crazy 480ppq stuff i can drum out with it connected to the 2000xl.
