i have a zip100 drive (parallel) and want to hook it up to my laptop, unfortunately my laptop doesn't have a parallel port... i have seen parallel to usb adapters available but am not sure if they will work with a zip drive... can anyone help please?

Parallel drives and/or scsi/combo parallel drives will not work with mpc's.

its not the mpc i want it to work with... my 2000xl has an internal zip drive... its connecting my parallel zip drive to my laptop via a parallel to usb adapter that is my question...

I'm 99% sure Parallel to USB connectors are made only for printers -- not any other devices. I don't think it will work.

Check eBay for a USB zip drive -- shouldn't cost you more than $20 - 30 and you may end up getting zip disks with the lot.

well after consulting my local pc store, i was pointed in the direction of a parallel PCMCIA card... works a treat!
