I remember a while back seeing an MPC beat making video where a guy took a sample from something like a 'sounds of the far east' instrumental LP - can't find it anymore, or remember what it was called. Did anyone else see? Could you enlighten me, its bugging the hell out of me!

oh my god dude ive been looking for that as well! its pretty much what inspired me to start making beats. i originally wanted the sp-404 after seeing his videos and then i found out about the mpc and i got that.

his youtube name was donkeypunch95 (i think. i know it was donkeypunch something) but i guess he deleted it because i haven't been able to find it in a while. man i really wanted to watch those videos again, i still remember how the song went that he made with that simon and garfunkel sample. he used the song "sound of silence"

EDIT: he also sampled the intro of "if loving you is wrong i dont want to be right - luther ingram" in another video

I think supreme is a great brother and his personality comes through in those videos.I like that he is not afraid to have fun with the videos and is kind of insane.Also its bugged out that he was a skater and still skates that video where he skates the pool is nuts I can't believe he can still do that at his age.His beats are great and i feel like I did learn a few things but

1. I wish he had some 2000 videos I would love to see his tips on that machine

2. I wonder what it would sound like if he tried making beats that had no boom boom bap
Like what would broken beat sound like made by him ? That boom boom bap formula you pretty much can't go wrong
I would like to see him make stuff with odd time signatures maybe on some prefuse73 style beats

I think his dvd's that are for sale are done on the MP 2500. These youtube vids are done for fun. His dvd's are more seriously & more directed towards teaching how to use the equipment. I own a mpc 500 & both of his dvd's. Even though they were done on the 2500, the lessons he teaches are usable on any MP.

Not sure about the Prefuse vids. Dont think I've ever come across any, but i'll keep my eyes open.

if you find any donkeypunch or prefuse 73 videos post them here!
