Checked out beatkangz.com, noticed the front page was different, "Get on the VIP list to pre-order the BEAT THANG". Clicked the hardware page for more info. Previously it said the first batch would be done end of September, shipping October 1st. It was supposed to be $999 pre-order, free shipping, free virtual.

I pre-ordered, it turned out to be $1,011 after shipping. Now when you click that same page I ordered from, "The Beat Thang machine will begin shipping this Winter. Please get on our Beat Thang V.I.P list to be the first notified when they are available for Pre-sales."

What does that mean? Winter? So some time between around January and April? After I already bought an Akai MPC-2500, Korg microSAMPLER, and Roland SP-404SX? Why? What's left for the Thang?

What about people who pre-ordered. What does that mean now? I'm probably the only person in the world who pre-ordered, but still thought you'd like to know.

No, he never sent my money back.

I emailed Aja:

Subject: Winter?

Not sure if I understand the new wording on the website, is the hardware delayed?

The beginning of his reply goes:

Not sure I understand you at all lol.

Is late oct- nov winter?

Now I'm really confused. Before it said it shipped early October. Then I guess it got delayed to October-November, with no specific date, so they changed it to say "Winter"? That's how it sounds, but October and November are Fall. The first day of Winter is December 21st.

sounds like you guys are getting the shaft.. yea and our update was sposto come out in a few weeks, and now its been a few months, you never know what these guys are gonna pull.. we should start a petition called "FRIENDS DON'T LET FRIENDS BUY BEAT THANGZ".... and what does happen if the do drop the hardware and there is a defect in all the hardware units, think they would actually stand behind it, im just saying if a company is gonna sell a crap software that crashes and key features dont even work, then you must be a fool to trust their hardware, cause you know whats gonna happen, and they could just declare bankruptcy and not have to pay a dime back...lol

Maybe they're talking about UK seasons re: Winter...!

Some of the feedback they've had on the Virtual software has changed development plans, it would appear. They could end up with a very good product and getting to that point is going to be a learning experience for them.

More products = more choice so it's good to see new equipment on the horizon - including Korg MicroSampler, etc.
