Pad responsivness with JJ OS (1000 vs 2500)

I'm thinking about turning in my newly bought MPC1000BK for a MPC2500. The main reason is the hard pads and crappy sensitivity. With Akai OS the pads are okay but still crappy. But with JJOS the pads crappyness is over the top. Even with the sensitivity all the way up to 25. Hitting the pads repeatedly, it will trigger the sound on the pad 7 times out of 10. And often the pad will just freak out and do it own thing.

Will I get more sensitive, more responsive and better pads by getting the 2500 and using JJOS? Or should I return the 1000, get my money back and just forget about Akai all together?

And yes, the pads on the 2500 are better.

thats sounds very strange, double check you have the new pads cause not all black mpc's have them. you should be able to pinch the corner pads and pull out the corner of these pads, otherwise open up the mpc and check .old pads are single pad units, new pads are one sheet.

ive used 1000 new old & pads, 2000,200oxl , 2500 and the 60 and my favourite velocity repsonse is with the jjos 1000 and the new pads

I pinched the corner of a corner pad and it came out. Looks like it's on a sheet.

ok well you definitely have the new pads!

i think the problem is not with the os but something else.

the next easiest thing to try is the system restore- hold erase button down when you power up. jj suggests doing this every time after installing an os update.

I have a blue 1K with the pad upgrade and a 2500. Both with JJ. My 2500 Pads Responds better.
I got to turn sens up on the 1k, could be better, but no complaints.

I would get the 2500. Much better with JJ(pad wise), and the layout is sick.

it still sounds to me like he's got a problem somewhere though... it doesnt sound like its a personal preference sort of thing.

i have a the 100 and set my sensitivity pretty high too usually about 23 and pad on level at 1.

I picked up the 2500 today and these pads are from another world compared to the 1000!

My bet is you had the Pad On Level set all the way up instead of all the way down... That had me stumped when I first installed the pad fix. I have one of the OG blue 1k's and with the new pads it is what I always thought an Mp should be, response wise... Glad you like the 2500. I've never had the pleasure.
