I've been doing the exact same thing for a while! Everyone has their phone on them, so it just makes sense to use it as a storage device. They just need retractable usb cables built in!

Ak.sys isn't necessary for simple loading and saving of projects to and from memory, but it IS if you want to copy anything DIRECTLY FROM HDD. This would apply to any time you want to copy/backup folders from one storage device to another. You would have to load everything into memory and save back down, recreating every folder (which would take forever).
I have the most problems from ak.sys with really long file names. I remember something around 56 characters causing a crash. It also does not like USB hubs.
I just noted this in another thread, but it is possible to get ak.sys working in a non-compatible OS by using virtual machine software. Unlikely it would make it less buggy though, haha.
