Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Im getting this error while trying to format an external hard drive. Its a glyph 36 gig scsi. I have it set to ID 0 and have tried Device ID 1 and get the same error.

I did a search and found that someone has had this before, but didnt see a solution.

I also tried formatting the drive with a PC with Chicken Systems Translator but am getting an error there too.
Chicken pretty much just crashes..

I know the drive works with ensoniq file format, but cant get it to work with the MPC. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Just in case anyone reads this. I ended up buying another hard drive.

To talk about the solution in case anyone runs across this.

Im pretty sure the drive has some incompatibility with the mpc ( SEAGATE ST336706LW ).

I know there's a lot of people who use Chicken Systems with 9 gig hard drives and are successful, but this drives seems to have some issues being formatted in mpc format. Ive tried numerous drive sizes as well as partition count and non of the combos work. Ive contacted Chicken themselves and their recommendation was to set it to 24 partitions with a max drive size of 600 and something meg. What! I just bought a 9 gig that works fine, so 600 hundred is bs..

Anyway, if anyone knows any other utilities that will let me format to a file format that the mpc can read then let me know.

Again, when the mpc tries to format I get an error, but when I format with chicken systems to 26 partitions and 2 gig it works (as far as chicken systems goes). When I connect it to the mpc the files are all garbled and the mpc cant read the samples. The only thing im successful with is loading samples in through the zip and saving to the hard drive. That works, but who the **** wants to do that..

Oh well.

Peace
