Tip: Load sounds from portable recorder

Pocket recorders are handy for capturing sounds wherever you are, but they typically record to SD and the MPC uses CF. One solution is to buy an SD to CF adapter. Then you can record 44/16 .wavs, and load the files directly into the MPC. After trimming/sequencing, save them to your HDD/CF as usual.

i got one of those and a 512 sandisk sd. cant get it to be read/format in my mpc.

Multiple cards work in both my 500 and 2500. Did you try formatting in another device first? Or try on the PC using FAT. I just tried formatting and writing to a card in the 500, worked fine.

I'll give it another go and try your suggestions.

Few years old, but a reminder that it's even more useful today, since almost everything uses micro/SDHC.

If you have devices that record .wav to SD, including smartphones, you can hotswap and load the files into RAM.
